Drawing upon the cultural and artistic inspirations of travel, I've created these digital paintings to capture the essence of the country through my experiences.

Understanding the creative inspiration behind the art created is interesting to me. Each of the elements used has it's own story to tell, a place, a feeling, a color...something that caused me to take notice.

The digital tools allowed me to be more spontaneous and gave me feedback as I was gathering source material. Seeing the photos as they are taken, and being able to digitally reference them throughout the trip allowed me to be more experimental.

The paintings have been crafted into limited edition Iris prints. Each print is made on Arches for Iris acid-free 100% rag fine printmaking paper with Iris Equipoise inks. They are printed in San Luis Obispo, CA by August Editions.
